Remote / Receiver / Revision

Check the match before choosing a remote.

The right model number is only part of the answer. Receiver technology, regional variants and hardware revisions matter too.

A clear way forward

  1. Read the remote label

Keep the manufacturer, full model and hardware revision together.

  2. Identify the receiver

Use the external receiver model if the system has one.

  3. Verify the documented match

Check technology, exclusions and setup mode in the exact guide.

What do you need help with?

Three things to match

  1. Remote identity. Manufacturer, full model, suffix and hardware revision.
  2. Opener or receiver identity. Use the external receiver’s model if one has been fitted.
  3. The exact manufacturer guide. Check supported technology, model restrictions and programming mode—not just a color or frequency.

Useful clues, not guarantees

LEARN-button color and radio frequency help narrow a search, but cannot establish compatibility on their own. A modern white LEARN button associated with Security+ 3.0 is not the same as older white-button DIP equipment.

“Universal” still has limits. The 374UT excludes DIP-switch receivers; the L993M Rev. C guide excludes green-learn BillionCode and Craftsman Series 100.

Keep the revision in the answer

The 375LM instructions include yellow-learn Security+ 2.0 in manual 114A3492C (2013). That does not establish support for every early hardware version or later-generation opener.

Shared gates and commercial access

Permission, receiver configuration and credential enrollment can matter as much as the remote model. Contact the property manager or system administrator before changing shared-access controls. Do not copy, bypass or erase access credentials without authorization.

A few useful answers

Common questions

Is matching frequency enough?

No. Frequency can narrow the search, but it does not establish a compatible protocol or receiver configuration.

Does universal mean every opener?

No. Universal remotes have documented supported systems and exclusions. Check the exact model and revision.

If a match is not listed here, is it incompatible?

No. Unconfirmed means the match has not been established on this page. Identify the receiver and verify the exact documentation before selecting a replacement.
